The small towns of Rawene and Kohu Kohu are a 15 minute drive the other way, both have great coffee, Arts and Crafts and are serviced by a regular vehicle Ferry. A forty minute drive will take you to Kaikohe and a further 20 will get you to Keri Keri. Kaitaia is an hours drive further north from Kohu Kohu.
