Two boat ramps, one next to Rotoma store/Roadhouse Cafe where you can pickup picnic supplies and takeaways and another ramp at the south end of the lake near the playground at Matahi Spit. Plenty of parking on the property for boats.Ski & wakeboard lanes beckon the avid skier and afterward, back to the bach for a BBQ. Lake Rotoma is one of the smaller lakes with its own more secluded charm with great catch rates in the district and it?s open year round. Rainbow trout are most common in Rotorua?s lakes, but there are also brown trout and tiger trout which are only released in Lake Rotoma. Open to game bird hunting. Shore based hunting is only permitted on the sections of Lake Rotoma Scenic Reserve on sw side of Te Rotoiti Bay, and a DOC game bird hunting permit is required. All temporary structures must be removed no later than two weeks after the close of the game bird hunting season.
