A Pohutukawa lined sandy beach, safe for swimming, is just across the road and it's just a short stroll to shops, cafes, restaurants and Paihia's many adventure activities, or alternatively wind down and just sit back and enjoy the sea view.

Paihia is a perfect central base to explore all that Northland has to offer, from activities on the water in the Bay of Islands fishing, watersports, cruises sailing or kayaking, to land based activities such as golf, exploring and hiking through beautiful native forests. Award winning vineyards are with a short drive or take a day trip north to the very top of New Zealand to visit Spirits Bay, Cape Reinga and Ninety Mile Beach.

For those into New Zealand's colourful history, the Waitangi Treaty Grounds are a short five minute drive north from Paihia Beach House or go a bit further and you can see the Waimate Mission House, the Stone Store and Kemp House at Kerikeri. The home itself is located within one hundred metres of where the Reverend Henry Williams set up the first Mission in the Bay of Islands.
