HOW DOES A RENT TO BUY WORK?

- Agree on a purchase price for the property
- Pay a low upfront deposit (usually around 1-2% or whatever you can afford)
- Enter into a contract with us, paying a bit more than market rent, a portion of this (called "rent credit") goes towards your deposit
- At anytime within the contract period you believe you have saved enough money, use your original deposit plus your rent credits (and any other money you may have saved) to exercise your option to buy.
- While you're within the contract period, the rent to buy scheme works exactly like a normal tenancy, we pay rates, insurance etc however while you rent you're saving towards your deposit.
- Why rent to buy? Buying at todays value lets you make the capital gains in the long term. Trying to save while house prices continue to rise makes saving for a deposit very difficult. Committing to a rent to buy gets you into your own home sooner
