We are selling our beautiful holiday home in Peria (sleeps 8-10). This is the perfect location for that relaxing secluded break away from all the tourists, and yet ideal for exploring the wonderful sub-tropical north. Only 20 mins Doubtless Bay, Taipa and Coopers Beach, 30 mins 90 mile beach, 40 mins Karikari peninsula, 1 hour Bay of Islands and Kerikeri - and very close to the secret Peria plungepool ! But why travel, the house is totally secluded on nearly an acre of gardens with fruit trees and specimen plants and is bounded on two sides by the Te Puhi river - we swim in the river every summer.

The house is really funky. Sitting on 2m poles it surveys the beautiful gardens and river, and looks like a house in Thailand. It was previously owned by Heather Noud, an artist who has exhibited in Australia, and who completely redesigned the interior. You can see some of her paintings in the background of photo 8. The lounge, dining and kitchen are open plan with a large mezzanine floor above over-looking the lounge. We used the mezzanine floor as the kids bedroom and could sleep up to 8 there. There is a separate bedroom, toilet and shower room.

Ouside there is a storeroom and deck overlooking the gardens - ideal for that glass of vino whist watching the kids play - climbing tress, making rafts, fixing swings, chopping bamboo. There is a small deck at the back that could be extended for views over the river. Under the house there is extensive storage and space to park cars.

This is the most wonderful property which i really dont want to sell, however divorce makes it necessary ! All my friends have said dont sell, 'you will never find another house like it' ! They are right
