Te Waitere is a little hamlet in perhaps one of New Zealand's most stunning and under-rated harbours. Sitting above this quiet, friendly village is an immaculately preserved and renovated kiwi bach that will be a joy for the whole family. The current owners have created a wealth of memories here but have reluctantly decided to let the next family enjoy it. It's a three hour drive from Auckland and 90 minutes from Hamilton and the scenery on the drive out is spectacular and remote. This has plenty of room for a workshop and with polyblock construction and an earth roof it keeps a cool, even temperature all year round; great for storing wine.

The owners have been meticulous in maintaining the house and the outdoors with the aim to create a low maintenance section that leaves more and more time for fishing, water sports and relaxing. There's some lawn for the kids to run around out back, a sheltered pagoda for breakfast and watching the sunrise, and a few fruit trees thrown in for good measure.
