Temporary Accommodation by the Canterbury Earthquake Temporary Accommodation Service (CETAS).

This is a Government supported temporary accommodation option for people who need short term housing while their EQ damaged home is repaired or rebuilt as a result of the Canterbury earthquakes.

CETAS is a joint venture between the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).

Eligibility and priority conditions apply to access the temporary village accommodation. This includes verification of home ownership or tenancy and confirmation of repair or rebuild time frames with an end date identified. Due to the increase in demand for temporary housing in Christchurch please be advised that locating accommodation in the villages is dependent upon availability at the time.

There are 41 units available in the Linwood Village. Eight have a wet area shower and ramp access to the front door. All units are insulated, double glazed, standalone, fenced, have panel heaters, a clothes line, an outdoor shed, a back door and parking space.

Of the 41units sixteen are 2bedroom ($271pw), twenty are 3bedroom ($337pw) and five are 4bedroom ($423pw).

A tenancy agreement is established by the CETAS Matching and Placement team for all accommodation in the temporary villages. The tenancy agreement is administered by an external property management company contracted to MBIE. Two weeks rent is required for bond as well as two weeks rent-in-advance on all temporary village tenancy agreements.

Pets including dogs are welcome in the villages providing owners have them registered and vaccinated.
